Organ transplantation has been one of the most effective treatment, and
by far the only treatment to help with organ failure, for instance heart,
kidney, and liver failure. Such organs and tissues are essential to carry out
the proper functioning of our body; any damage to the organs could lead to
death as well. Among all transplantations, kidney transplantation has been
carried out globally and most frequently, as it has been cost effective as well
as life effective.
Organ attainment for transplantation requires organs removal from the
deceased person’s body. There is also living donor transplantation where the
donor is rather alive and is able to live with one part of the organ such as
one part of lung or kidney. But such removal process requires legal
requirements that are to be followed, where consent has to be signed.
There are also certain negligible risks with donation of organs:
·
First is the consent, consent is a must necessity that
cannot be neglected, ensuring the consequences of the process. Also for the
living donors, a proper follow up to track the consequences and potential
risks, and all this information has to be disclosed to the patient with an
informed consent.
·
Many times the disadvantaged individuals have been
neglected with the welfare of living kidney donors, where they are encouraged
and exploited to sell off their kidneys, which many do for the sake of money.
But in such cases they are left with the risk of no follow up after the
procedure.
